SUBMIT A SCRIPT

A competition to submit a script with the chance to see it being acted out and filmed on the West's living room set. Director, cast and crew were provided by Unitec’s Performing & Screen Arts Department.

OUTRAGEOUS RALLY

SATURDAY 16 April 2011, 1 pm - 3 pm AUCKLAND MUSEUM SOUTHERN CARPARK 

The West family love their cars. And with this in mind Auckland Museum hosts the Outrageous Car Rally.

Loads of luscious cars will be on display at the south entrance, with a cruise around the Museum circuit at 2 pm. Cars on display include Hotrods, Classics and radically customised vehicles from all over Auckland.

A New Zealand Hot Rod Association Inc sanctioned event.

We’re open late every Wednesday from the 16 March until 20 April – swing by after work and enjoy a glass of wine, check out the exhibition, or stay on for some food for the mind in the auditorium (Level 2).

23 March 2011: Fashion design floor talks

Floor talks at 6pm Wed 23rd March with the designers showcased in Outrageous Influence: Designing the West. Facilitated by Paul Blomfield.

30 March 2011: Conversation with cast & crew

From words on a page to mayhem on set – the process of capturing the magic. Outrageous director Simon Bennett, writer Rachel Lang and actor Tammy Davis (Munter) talk about shooting the show.

6 April 2011: Conversation with cast & crew

Where’s Wolf? Actress Robyn Malcolm (Cheryl), editor Nic Smith and director Britta Johnstone share their memories of the best and strangest moments behind the scenes on Outrageous Fortune.

13 April 2011: Bonding with characters

University of Auckland’s Professor Cristel Russell talking about the bonds we forge with on-screen characters. Conversation will be moderated by Noelle McCarthy.

OUTRAGEOUS INFLUENCE: DESIGNING THE WEST FASHION DISPLAY

23 March – 26 March 2011, 10 am – 5 pm

See West-inspired garments designed by Cybele, Kristine Crabb, Huffer, Zambesi and Murray Crane in homage to Outrageous Fortune – a show that continues to influence local design.

HALF-PRICE MATRIARCH MONDAYS

Mothers were able to get into the exhibition for half price every Monday. Just by bringing along whatever they think proves they're a mum: a family snap, a child, scars or wrinkles!
